FLOUR COMBINE.

SHOWS ITS TEETH. AGENT VICTIMISED. NEW PLYMOUTH, May '7. Tho Taranaki Chamber of Commerce on Thursday night decided to protest to the Premier and the Minister of Agriculture against the action of the itoTirmillers’ combine striking a New Plymouth iirin off the list of distributors, presumably because a member as President of the Chamber repeatedly called attention to the injustice of the embargoes and duties in connection with the importation of wheat and flour. Ho pointed out that in Australia with wheat at 6s 5d flour sold at £l2 12s 6d f.0.b.5.i., but in New Zealand 6s 8d sacks is considered by the combine to be equal to £lB, less discount for flour. The discrepancy needed investigation. It is stated that flourmillers aro now wanting either total prohibition of tho importation of flour or a duty of £4 per ton.
