A GOOD SALE. At Napitr, (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, February . 24. Ninety per cent of the catalogue of about 20,000 bales was sold under the I iminnier at the lourtli wool sale of the season tn Napier to-day, when the ■ prices, taken all round, showed an j improvement from pal- to a haltpenny on the Auckland rates. Lidding«as particularly spirited, and competition keen. For good classes of wool, America operated freely at advanced limits. Bradford had a strong competitor for topmaking sorts, whilst the Continent pushed the prices for pieces
and bell.es. There was a better demand lor lamb wool, mainly from the C -nlin-ent. Growers generally are very well satisfied with the prices ruling. The official range of prices was:— Down average ltd to Ifljd; medium halfbred, average 14d to 15d; coarse halfbred, super l-'-pl to ]6Jd. : average 13.1. to l-5Jd; inferior lOd to lljd; fine crossbred, super 14Jd to 17fd; average 12id to 14d, inferior 9jd to ■ ll.fd, medium crossbred, super l-ljd to I ]Cd; average lid to 13d. inferior 8)d | to itl.'d; coarse crossbred, super 12)d to 13]d: average 9i)d to It.fd, inferior 8d to 9ld : low crossbred, average (’id to lid. inferior 8-ld to 9jd. Hoggets, 48-—5 O, 13d to Ifl^d; 46—18. lljd to- 15Jd; 41—46 lid. to 14Jd : 40—44, 103 to 13)d. f Lambs, 14—50 12s to 16)d; 40 —4(> 9d to 13jd; seedy and inferior, Bd> to IOJd.
