At the Seven Mile, Point Elizabeth, a large number of campers are enjoying the beautiful facilities which the locality enjoys for picnics, surf bathing, ; and salt water swimming in the lagoon. Point Elizabeth has been chosen as the locality for the Railway picnic, and trains will land passengers right on the camp site. The journey is only fifteen minutes further from Greymouth, while the ocean beach and camping ground provides every opportunity for enjoyment. This handy resort is certainly gaining greatly in popularity. Smoker’s heart is a distressing malady caused chiefly through the effects | of a : n alkaloid called Nicotine which i is extremely poisonous. Strong tobac- ' co with a high percentage of nicotine i should therefore be avoided. When se- 1 lecting a brand, the smoker should not { be guided by appearance alone, because I even an apparently mild cigarette tobacco of a bright lemon colour may contain—and often does contain an excess of nicotine. It is a peculiar fact that certain N.Z. soils produce a leaf with a- very small perceutnge of nicotine, compared with the foreign type. Take for instance our local brands Riverhead Gold Cut Plug No 10 and Toasted Navy Cut. There you have an absolutely pure" article, which can be smoked continuously without the slightest after effects. It burns to the last shred, leaving the mouth sweet and clean. So highly is New Zealand tobacco commented upon bv Doctors and experts that smokers should acquaint themselves with the merits of our own product by giving 1 the above brands a fair trial.
