“AFTER. HOURS’y CASE DISMISSED. James Carson was yesterday charged with being on licensed promises after hours on the evening of December 22. The case, however, possessed some unusual features, and, according to Senior Sergeant Mst.'arthy, had been brought in order to get a ruling from Bis Worship, Air W. An application had been made hj r the host and hostess for the distribution of liquor between the guests on the premises after hours. The police refused the application, hut later learned that the celebrations were tn bo carried out, as originally intended in spite of the op- ' position of Ihe Law. 'The Senior Sergeant said'that the police had no ob- : jeetion to th. ic having drink until 8 or ’ 8.30 „p.m., yet the company continued ’ to ,<ljaw the corks after that hour. A bdyt 9.10 p.m..
