SHORTAGE OF ARMY HORSES, SYDNEY, August 11. Fresiding at the nnuuul met ting of the New South Wales Lancers’ Association, Liteutenant Colonel McMahon sounded a note of warning when he said; If we were suddenly called upon to provide mounts for a few Light . Horse Brigades, we would have the 'greatest difficulty in doing so, as the breeder of the type of horse required for military purposes is fast going out of business. RUSSO-GERMAN UNDERSTANDING. PAR’S, August 10. “Lo Petit Parisien's ” Berlin correspondent learns that the Russian German conferences laid nt Berlin recently drew up an addendum to the Treaty of Rapallo. The terms are kept secret, but it is believed that they determined the lines of future Russo-Gerinan collaboration in the event of Germany entering the League of Nations, or signing the guarantee pact.
