(Our own Qorrespondenft.) The wedding was celebrated un Saturday morning at the residence of the bride’s sister, Mrs R. Thomas, of Agnes the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs D. Blackadder, to Mr Joh.i Kennedy Martin, The bride was given away by Mr R. A. Thomas, and was attended by her niece, Miss Doris Fergusson, as bridesmaid, while Mr Archie Millai fulfilled the duties of best man. The officiatin'; clergyman was the Rev J. Watt. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the wedding party was entertained by Mr and Mrs Thomas, when the usual toasts were proposed and honoured, after which the happy couple left by car for Westport, where the honeymoon will be spent, carrying with them the best wishes of a hirge circle of friends. There was a good attendance at the Excelsior euchre on Friday evening, the prizes going to Mrs Alborn (Ist), Mr C. Harris (2nd), Mr Remnan (3rd), and Mrs Brookes (4th). The tributors at the Murray Creek Mine cleaned up during tile week, the return being 55ozs of retorted gold from 53 tons of ore crushed. The Cronadun and Black's Point hockey teams played their cup fixture at the racecourse on Saturday afternoon, the former winning by 2 goals to 1. The election for Secretaryship of the Inangfiluia Miners’ Union was held on Saturday, resulting in Mr D. McKa.ie being returned to the position. The voting was as follows: —D. MeKane 288, W. I’attersen 110, Informal 3; total 401. The Pirate and Cronadun Rugby teams played their cup fixture on Sunday afternoon, and, after a fast and interesting game, the former non by 8 to 6. Each side scored two tries, the Pirates converting one. Mr R. Hesiop refereed the game, and gave every, satisfaction.
