IMMORAL FILMS

A CHECK URGED By Prisons Congress (Received August 9 at 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 8. The International Prisons Congress u.uiniinously resolved on a demand for an effective film censorship in every country, with the primary object of protecting youths, The congress also demands the inspection of cinemas, in order to ensure the carrying out of the decision of the censorship, which should not be confined merely to questions of obscenity, but should deal with all matters calculated to injure or deprave youth. Special film exhibitions, the Congress urges, should be provided for the young, and the State should subsidize organisations for the production of films of real value for the young and the general public. It was resolved that the question of the films should be regulated by international agreements.
