To celebrate what they consider a great victory, tho members of the Seamen’s Union will hold a precession to-day from the Trades Hall to the Shipping Office beaded by a band. The men will carry red flags and sing Communist songs. MELBOURNE RESUMPTION. MELBOURNE, August 6. The agreement between the shipowners and the Seamen's Union will be signed to-day. Picking-up will start at 9 o'clock on Friday morning. A meeting of the Victorian Branch of the Seamen's Union approved ->I the ship-owners’ proposals that the agreement be operative for a period of two years. LOCAL DISPUTES COMMITTEE MELBOURNE, August 6. Another decision reached by the committee wa£ that Disputes Committees comprising the local secretary of the Seamen’s Union and the shipowners branch, shall be set up al Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Adelaide and Fremantle, these committees to deaf with all disputes as they arise and endeavour to settle them expeditiously, so as not to interfere with the running of the vessels. It is thought that this localising of troubles will prevent their spreading to other centres. Central Conciliation Boards will be act up in Melbourne and Sydney to which shall be referred all disputes uof settled by the local committees. MELBOURNE RESUMPTION TO-DAY. MELBOURNE, August 6. The representatives of the seamen and the owners to-dny signed the strike settlement agreement. The ships will be mar.ued on Friday. -WNFf’*? TO DISMISS NONUNIONISTS. (Received August 6 at 9.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 6. The coastal shipowners to-day announced that they will sign the ship ping agreement, and that they will dismiss non-union labour.
