REVUE FOR GREY

MISS BEATRICE AYDON. A CHRISTMAS PRODUCTION. To help to raise funds to pay off the new Convent, the engagement of Mis* Beatrice Ayden, of Nelson, has been arranged to produce a Revue at Christmas. Miss Aydon, who is a niece to the late Kate Rickards, of Vaudeville fame, in London and Australia, has produced several Revues in Nelson, and apart from being a producer of no mean merit she is a very clever artist, and has taken leading parts in several comic operas and revues, her last success being leading part in “The Toreador.’’ Her very strong, but sweet, soprano voice in the s<ng “My Toreador,’ brought her loud praise from the critics. The Committee are indeed fortunate in securing this young lady's services, and as their are heaps of young talent in Greymouth Miss Aydon will, we are certain, put on a real good show; which will, no doubt, prentljincrease the funds for the above building. It is the intention of the Committee to run a bazaar in conjunction with the Revue. Miss Ayden will, in all probability, be in Greymouth early in November, and will then start to select her Company . It is her intention to introduce some very clever dances and uew Revue turns. She is in commvAileatibn with Sydney securing the latest. The following are two clippings from the “Nelson Mail’’:—“ln putting on the Revue ‘Jasaganza’, last evening. Miss B.Aydon has achieved another distinct success in the realm o’ amateur production. As a Revue entertainment, the Revue was all that could be desired. ’’ “The initial performance of Pantomine Land was staged at the Theatre Royal last, evening before a packed house. The production was one of the best of its kind thaat local talent has staged and reflects great credit upon its producer, Miss B. Aydon, who has spared no pains to make the performance the huge success it was.” The foregoing are onlv two of many, so that the people of Greymouth may look forward to getting their money’s worth, and a ehnneo for those inclined to take part to be taught by a very capable teacher.
