THE WEATHER
WELLINGTON, August 3. The indications arc for strong, squally southerly winds northwards of We-t port and Kaikoura, and for moderate to strong easterlies elsewhere. Th. 1 weather will be unsettled and cloudy, rain falling generally, and heavy rain in the northern and east coast districts. I'he barometer is rising in the north, but is unsteady in the south.
