Trantor aud Lamb, on tho petition of the co-re-spondent, on the ground that the damages awarded by the jury were exCounsel for the co-respondent stated that the solicitor for the parties had agreed, if the Court had found the way it had, that the damages would be reduced from £l5OO to £(>00, each party paying all its own costs. The Supreme Court sessions opened this morning before Mr Justice Ostler, Addressing the Grand Jury, the Judge said that the Wellington district was to be congratulated on the comparative absence of crime, only eight cases coming before them. It was a happy circumstance that of these there were only three with any suggestion of indecency. Ralph Devonport Moore, aged 16, pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted rape. Sentence was deferred.
