Forbes and R. Masters, members of the executive of the Xational Party, addressed a big audience here last night, tho former dealing at length v.’ith the Fusion history, stressing the sinceiity of the Liberals, and accusing the Prime Minister of knowingly mis-stating the Xational Party’s position in a manner no fairminded person would have doae. Air Masters also spoke on Air Uoates’s Palmersvbn speech, ■which he asserted contained untrue allegations against Afr Wilford’s party, when Air Coates stated that the Liberals ran away from Fusion, because they fou.id no loaves and fishes for them. Air. Alasters went on to indict the Government for waste of public money. De pa’rtmental extravagance and lack of laud policy, which the National Party could remedy, lie urged the electors to see that every candidate was pledged to support the ?<ational Party in the true interests of the welfare of the country, and the only way to escape the dangers of the three party system.

Thy/Tollowing resolution was adopt'd without dissent: — ‘‘This meeting thanks Mr Forbes and Mr Masters for an explanation of the nctiva of the Liberal Party in the Fusion negotiations. and welcomes the formation of the National Party, which has for its objects the ending of the three-party system and bringing together all who " ish to see a Government established that could administer the affairs of the Dominion with strength and decision, and putting into operation a sound policy of development of the country’s resources and social betterment cf the people. ’ ’
