He says li e and four others 'complained of short rations, and obtained their discharge at Balboa by means of an application to the British Consul. The St. George ran on to a reef in a gale at. Rapa, but was refloated. At Easter Island she was blown seaward with the Chilian Governor and a wealthy ranch owner aboard. They were unable to return for three days. Tho voyage from Easter Island to Balboa took 103 days. The food and. coal were exhausted. They were then towed to Panama, and a tug was summoned by wireless.
