KILLED IN BUSH

FATALITY AT HUKARERE. MR A, QUINN KILLED. A distressing liitulity Recurred in the bush at HukSiere about noon yesterday, a well-known \\ est Coast resident, Mr Augustus (Gus) Qu:mi losing his life with tragic suddenness. Deceased and four other men, Arthur Palmer, A. Richards, William Day ami R. J. Warren, were jacking logs i ito a waggon, when one big jack gave way. The log rolled back on to Quinn’s head, which was (rushed between it anti a lower log. Quinn stood upright, and then dropped dead. The skull was badly fractured. De-, ceased was 5S years of age, and was pre-deceased by his wife one year. The body was removed to the residence of Mr J. Fitzgerald, of Totara Flat. An inquest will be held at Ikainatua at noon to-day. The hite Mr Quinn was well-known in the Inangahua district, being one of ithe original vendors in the Millerton gold-mining syndicate.
