PRESIDENT OPPOSES CHANGE. NEW YORK. J.-iy 25. A message from Swampscott states President Coolidge will not sam-t’on a revised Tariff Act by the next Congress in belief that practically the same trade and business conditions exist now between the United Stat'-s and foreign nations as prevailed when the present Act was created The President is particularly averse to changes in the tariff at this time, because of their possible effect on business, by bringing about a situation of uncertainty.
