PEER OBTAINS DIVORCE.

DECREE FOR VISCOUNT GORT. LONDON, Juno 13. Viscount Gort has been granted a divorce from his wife on the ground of the latter’s misconduct with Senor Luis de Silva, formerly third secretary at the Spanish Legation in London. De Silva, claiming diplomatic privilege, was struck out of the case. The evidence disclosed that do Silva constantly visited Lady Gort during her husband’s absence. Respondent’s counsel said that she would not enter the witness box and therefore ho would not take any further part in Iho case.

John Standish S. P. Vereker, V.C., D.S.O. (with two bars), M.C., sixth Viscount Gort, was born in ISB6, and succeeded to his father’s title in 1902. In 1911 he married his cousin, Miss Corinne Katherine Vereker. There was a son anil a daughter. The Viscount has had a very distinguished military career.
