ROA MINE

DISPUTE SETTLED. The dispute over the dismissal of a Roa miner has been settled. This matter was dealt with by the Miners’ National Council and the Coal Owners’ representatives, at Wellington last week, and a special meeting of the Roa Union was held on Sunday to deal with the report of Messrs Evans and Balderstone, who were present. After a long discussion/ it was decided to accept the conditions of settlement placed before the meeting. Work will be resumed to-day at Roa mine, after its having been several days idle.
