(Our own Correspondent). A very enjoyable social was held at the Reefton District High School to Mr McNabb. Mr J. (’utbush (Captain of the First Fifteen) presented Mr McNabb on behalf of the staff and the Fmd ball Club, with a wristlet watch. The principal, Mr Worry, made special reference to the valuable service tin 1 guest had rendered duri»ng the term he was associated with the school, and wished him success in his new home. Miss Knyvett supplied the music, ■xtras being played by Misses Hopkirk, Xahr a’lid Stallard, while Mr 11. Worry acted as M .C. The Blacks Point ami Reefton Hockey teams played a cup fixture on Saturday, the game resulting in a draw, each side scoring one goal. The Shop Assistants’ Football team journeyed 1<» Karamea to play a match leaving on Friday ex’eniiig. H'he game resulted in a draw', 3 all, each side kicking a penalty goal. I'lie Rewanui and Reefton Soccer loams played a game hen* on* Saturday .iltornmm, the visitors winning the game by 2 goals to one. Landing and Pirates jilayed their Rugby Football Cup fixture on Sunday all eIM >on. which resulted in a win for Landing by 10 to 6. As the ground was very heavy, owing to the rain that hd fallen, and it was mostly a forward game, which favoured the country team Mr M . Twomey was reform' and gave e\ery satisfaction. During (ho game Dan. 'l'womey received a nasty bump i which necessitated his removal to the Hospital, but upon j,n(|uiry, [ find he was able to leave the institution after a couple of hours rest.
