AL Baddeley, who holds the Alinistries of Mines and Labour and Industry in the Labour Government of N.S.W., was prior to his election to Parliament president of the Australian Aliners’ Federation. With Air A. C. Willis, who is the Aliners’ Federation secretary, also in the Government as A’ice-President of the Executive Council, miners’ interests should bo well looked after by legislation. Beneficial mining laws as the result of Labour’s victory are foreshadowed by the Svdney “Labour Daily,” which states that “as speedily as possible, bills will be passed through Parliament providing for the securing of safety in mines, and compelling the provision of facilities for bathing and (‘hanging, and whatever else inay bo necessary to make the life of the miner no more dangerous or unpleas- | ant than that of any other member of 1 civilised society. ’ ’
