ASHBURTON RACING CLUB. ASHBURTON June 27. The Ashburton Winter Meeting concluded to-day in cold raw weather, a drizzle falling at intervals. The tote took £99411 against last year’s £lO.. 042.1. At the jump at the distance Mainspring fell trampling on the. .jockey. (). Callum, who was removed to the hospital for observation, stifferj.ig from slight concussion. Cashman ran off when he was leading at the six furlong post. An inquiry into the alleged interference of Charlatan with Windmere at the last fence ki the Steeplechase, was held. After evidence was taken, it was decided that there was no cause for action, but A. Peart rider of Charlatan, was repri. mantled for the way in which he gave evidence.
