Island match at Auckland. 'The team is as follows: — Brosuahan, Carkcs, ' Fitzgerald, McKay, Prescott, Saunders W’atl. Henry, Thomas, Alouatt (Captain). Mears, Green. Ellis, Emergencies: O’Ccnnor and Hastie. N.Z. TEAM GOES TO QUEENSLAND (Received June 26 at 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 26. It is now considered almost certain that the New Zealand Rugby League team will visit Queensland. The latest reports indicate that Queensland is favourable to the acceptance of the Now Zealand Council’s terms. WEEK-END GAMES. The match of most interest Io ! oague followers on Sunday will be that between Marist and Biackball, .-it Blackball. W’ith Alouatt and Mears out of the team, the greens will have Io play the game of their lives to win. Blackball have also lost their crack three-quarter, Haistie, but it looks as if they will go out favourites. If Inangahua field the team they have published, Runanga seniors will be up against a tough proposition, but the blacks are always there to the final whistle, and have proved themselves to be the hardest team in the competition Io beat. It is on the cards that tJu* unlucky Grey team will have their first win when they face Roa. They deserve a victory. After their series of wins, it seems as if the Grey juniors are unbeatable. They will have to be in good iorm to neat Nelson Creek, while Blackball should extend Brunner. Marist seconds will field a. good team against Runanga at Dunollie; Rovers will travel to inangahua. Besides these matches there will >c three third grade matches, ami fourth grade match played. The Marist senior team to P a . Blackball to-inorrow are: Dunn, Kcn. lie dv Brown. Being a spectator at the football matches at Omoto last Sunday, and reading “Speculator’s" notes on Tuesday, I was disgusted with them, or 1 should say part of them as they will stand correction in a good few places. When he referred to the Inangahua referee did he mean two for ilia own club, and one for Roa —as I understand that, there was no report or protest against the reteree from the Roa Club? Also, the statement about White seems to me to come from a vin. dietivc mind, for in my opinion he played a great game, and his tackling came up to the average of the backs. As for letting the team down, it is canard, and 1 think the Roa Club will bear me out. Mr Editor, 1 cannot make it out, why Speculator should pick out White when there were poorer tacklers on the field on. Sun. day than he. My advice to “ Sueeu. lator” if he has a grudge against White, is to come out in the open and not to hit below the belt in the League notes. J am etc., FAIR PLAY.
