HOSPITAL BOARD. At the monthly meeting on Wedncsday there were present Messrs Fagan (chair) Auld, Paine, Scawright, Bell, Me Inroe, and O'Regan. From Education Department, \\ cllington admitting patient to blind in stitute. Resolved' on Messrs M(‘lnroe’s and Bell’s motion that the patient be sent to Christchurch for examination by :: specialist, and the Department be again asked to try and place her i»a a suitable home. The Hospitals Association notified the appointment of a secretary, Mr Ven Kisenberg. COUNTY COUNCIL. At Wednesday’s meeting Jackson i Bros., were at a rent of £5 a year, sub. I ject to the Engineer’s conditions, grant * ed permission to lay a tramway along Brown Creek, near Rough Creek. It was decided to ask the Defence I Deparfment for authority to spend the grant for a road to Reefton Rifle Range. W. Burnett ’s application for a water connection in Curie Street was referred to the Engineer. Several letters from the Highways Council were received, one advising that the Mai»ii Highways Board is prepared to take over that portion of River as from 28th inst. From Inspector Russell, Health Officer, advising that he has been transferred to Benheim and that Mr E. M. Bettel has been appointed to succeed him.—Resolved to send Mr Russell a

In response to Jno Ross’s letter it was resolved on Crs Bell and O’Regan’s inotiin that the Engineer send the graded to the landing and have road at Brown’s Creek attended to. Resolved on Crs McVicar and Wat sun’s motion that the Engineer cut off water supply where accounts for same arc unpaid. Resolved on motion of Crs Blackad der and Carroll that plans and specifications be prepared for <’lift* and Lock Creek, Maruia road. Other resolutions passed were:-— That the Railway Department be ask ed for a preplaco at J kamatua Station. That planks for Waiuta road bridges be procured. That repairs to the road and footpath at railway station be effected. That the Railway Department be asked to erect a goods shed at Roto koliu. That a grant of £2OO for a road through Block Xll (32 and 37) Inan_ gahua Survey District, be sought. That Boatman’s water supply race be repaired. Thant Bridge on Frying Pan road ami Pascoe’s road be repaired. The Public Works Department be asked to erect a suspension bridge at J. D. Andrew’s property.
