One gathering, held in Trafalgar Square, London, carried banners inscribed: ‘(Justice—Not Charity!” ‘‘Work or Maintenance! ” Resolutions were adopted ■ demanding the provision of sociallv-usoful work, and meanwhile an allowance of thirty shillings weekly for adult males, ten shillings for wives, and five shillings for each child
