This romantic tale is from the pen of Joseph Hergeslmimer, the author of ■‘‘Tol’able David” and "Th? Bright Shawl,” those unforgetable cinematic. gems, and is conceded to be his finest novel. It is enacted by a east that is one of the finest ever assembled, including Lewis Stone, Alma Rubens Norman Kerry, Irene Rieh, Constance Bennett, Betty Bouton. Charles Wellesley and lydiu Teaman Titus. Glowing with the spirit cf love and romance, the pilot is a most unusual or.e, and has been filmed against a background of pictorial beauty that enhances its appeal, three different colour schemes being used by the director to emphasise the mood of the action. Lewis Stone is cast as Lee Random who discovers that his love of adven ture and romance is being stifled bv a too-domestic wife. One day he comes across t doll v.-hose life-like features epitomize his ideal of a women, anil he purchases it. He worships it as n heathen would an idol, and it constitutes the only bright spot in his otb erwise prosaic existence. Then one day he finds the living image of the doll an d, heedless of tho consequences, he throws overboard caution and re gard in a whirlpool of amazing adventures. New York and Cuba are the locales of this fascinating story, which is one cf the few photoplays that a person wants to see again and again.
