The trouble that some persons will go to in order to sec a sporting event i was evidenced the other evening when a series of boxing match were staged at the King Edward Barracks (says the Christchurch Star). More than a score of young men clambered on to the roof and, through openings in the air vent which runs the full length of the building, they watched the various bouts. They made no attempt to conceal their hiding place, keeping up a stream of comment on the proceedings. “Now that we have the publiciiy hoard, New Zealand is going to boom overseas,” remarked an official of the Government Tourist Department to a New Zealand Times reporter the other day. “When you think of the boosting Switzerland gets— and after all there is little variety of scenic attractions there —it only emphasises the little that has been done in the past to bring New Zealand before the eyes of people overseas. That, however, is a thing of the past. The boost has commenced.”
