At a special meeting on Friday there Avere present; Messrs N- C. Kensington, Commissioner of Crown Lands (Chairman), R. Patterson, R. Win and G. MacMahou. Mr Patterson moved a resolution of sympathy Avith (he J’rime Minister in his severe illness, aud that the Under Secretary for Lands be requested to convey the Board’s resolution to Mr Massey.—Seconded by Mr Win and carried unanimously.

T'he Commissioner reported the result |of sales as folloAvs:—Auction sale at Westport (26 lots): A town land area for cash, section 132, town of Millerton was withdrawn from sale. Of the Westport Colliery reserve there were 21 lots offered, and lavo Avere. withdrawn. Seven leases were sold. Of the Edu cation Rcser\cs, one lease was sold. At the auction sale at Reefton for Education Reserves, 14 building sections produced no bids. For land advertised for /selection on rencAvable lease as per poster 301 (seven properties), no appli cations were received. Section 31 sq. 7 Block IX Motueka, 12 acres 7 perches was sold to L. G.
