grfamouth j.o. autumn. There is every indication litat the Clerk of the- Weather is ha nd-in-glove with the Greymouth Metropolitan Jockey Club for the Annual Autumn Meeting to-day. The weather cleared vn Thursday and yesterday was a beau tiful Autumn day, with a light breeze, which had the effect of making the Omoto track in splendid racing order. Patrons will find the appointments at the popular racecourse in first-class order, and as the fields promise to be large, the Club are assured of at very successful meeting. Good stakes are provided, and in no race is the first prize less than £lOO. Several good horses will be racing to-day who ar<» making their first appearance on the circuit, and as some first-rank performers are engaged, speculation ins cure to be brisk. Luncheon and after noon tea and refreshments may be obtained on the ground, and an excellent musical programme will assist to- | wards an enjoyable day’s ouiliig. Mr. Rowley Hatch, who is acting ns starter at Omoto to-day, and at Reel ton on Wednesday arrived in Grpymouth by yesterday’s express. D.
