SOY HANGS HIMSELF
WAS TT AN ACCIDENT 0 AUCKLAND, April 16. The inqnosi concerning' the death of Leslie Arthur Tupp, aged 14 years. | who was found hanged in an outhouse |:it his parents’ residence at Ponsonby !on April 3rd, was concluded to-day. The boy’s father, William Herbert Tupp, said his son left, school last December. TTe had passed the sixth standard. and held a certificate of competency. He was employed as a message boy for six weeks, but he relinquished the position a few days before his death, when he said, ho was going to look for another job. Five years ago the hov was struck on the head and stunned by a large stone, which fell from a. cliff. TTe had not complained of the injurv since, but. in consequence of the extraordinary circumstances of his death, witness thought the incident should be mentioned. Ho felt sure that the boy had no intention of taking his own life. Probably something ho had read, or hoard, had caused him. with boyish curiosity, to arrange* a cord to see the 1 effect, and he failed to recover his fek?t. The verdict was that his death was duo to hanging, the Coronrr adding that there was no evidence’ to show whether the case was one evf suicide ot was due to the deceased’s rehears-
ing an act ho had road about or soon at a picture show. No suspicion whntever was attached to any porstm in connection with the occurrence.
