Cardinal Bourne, speaking at Premier land in Whitechapel, expressed his regret that the Labourites had allowed their party to be called the Socialist Party.

Labour, he said, was one thing, while Socialism was something entirely different. There was nc doubt that class warfare was contrary to Christianity, and to the teaching of the Catholic Church.
