meeting of committee. A. mooting of the Committee. of the Grey District School was held last evening. There were present: Messrs R. .1. Williams (chair), Lamberton, T. 11. Baty, W. Scott, A. J. Aitken, and the secretary, Mr W. F. G. Pullin. The Rector (Mr 11. H. Alison) had reported that (lie attendance had been very satisfactory the -averages being: Main School, 561 out of 599; Blaketown, 95 out’of 107; total average 656 out of 706. The general report on the Inspector’s examinations of the school together with ■' letter of appreciation from the Canterbury Education Board, had been received. Matters in connection with the School Fair and Concert were, progressing satisfactorily. Many of the parents were, working enthusiastically ami making various articles for the stalls. On the motion of Mr Williams, seconded by Mr Aitken, it was decided to ask Mrs Scott to organise a ladies’ Committee to assist the teachers to make the Fair a success. It was resolved to ask the Municipal Band to play a programme on FailDay. A letter to received from the Canterbury Education Board congratulating the school on the excellent report received from, the Inspector. It was decided to forward a letter to the. Rector ami the teaching staff expressing appreciation of the fine manner in which the school had been conducted during the past year.
