One would have thought it was -witnessing a three ring circus by the vociferous clamour. Dun, as showed by Charles Jones, is a. character worthy of inspection. The son of a famous he nevertheless gives up the ring for pSjlanthropy. Millions of people have read and loved Frances Hodgson Burnett’s novel, “ A Lady of Quality,” and now they have the opportunity of seeing their beloved classic, on the screen, at the Opera House on Monday. As a Universal super Jewel, the highest form of photoplay which is produced by the Universal Pictures Corporation, averaging one a year, “A Lady of Quality,” is, of course, an elaborate production. This is one of the three big Universal Super-Jewels, of which Universal ordinarily make one a year, but

wheih this time have been produced for almost simultaneous release with the “Hunchback of Notre Dame” and ‘Merry-Go-Round,’ completing a great trio.

• featured playes of “A Lady of Quality” is Virginia Valli, and many of the readers of the Trances Hodgson Burnett novel will now-doubt sec in her their ideal choice for the heroine. There is very little of teh war, though

—merely the march home with victory and the elation of the people.

Miss Valli is charmingly aristocratic., sweetly'spirited, in the role of the : Countess of Dustonwolde, nee 'Clown du I Wildairs. .Milton Sills is endowed with the firmness of face, the visible indications of character, necessary to portray the role of the Duke of Osmonde. He, and Early Foxc — Sir John Owen— are both military figures. No one could have been more accurately cast as Queen Anne than Aileen Manning. Willard Louis, Patterson Dial, Bert Roach, Leo White, Florence Gilbert, Dorothea Wolbert and others of popular favour have roles of small but important, characters. 'There is spectacle to thrill blase ves, love to soften the heart and genuine drama of human souls, whatever their period or surroundings, in “A Lady of Quality. ’’ From the scenic and photographic standpoint the picture is an epic of beauty.
