Mr H. A. Wild, Collector of Customs. has returned to Greymonth from a holiday spent in Christchurch. At Takapuna on Monday, the marriage took place of Miss Majorie Isabel Parr, daughter of the Hon. C. .1. Parr and Mrs Parr, and Mr A. M. Epps, son of Mr and Mrs William Epps, of Sydney. The funeral of the late Mr David Mason, of Kanieri, whose body was washed up on the Cobden Beach on Sunday last, took place at Karoro yesterday. The graveside services were conducted by the Rev. T. N. Cuttie. The funeral of the late Mr James Rten house took place yesterday afternoon at Karoro Cemetery. There was a large attendance, including members of sports and local bodies and the Dispatch Foundry, Ltd. The. service at the. graveside was conducted by the Rev. T. N. Cuttie. Major-General Sir Donald McGavin and Lady McGavin wore passengers for England in the Reniuera, which sailed on Monday. It is Sir Donald’s intention to study the latest developments in surgery and medicine, both in England and abroad, and then to return to New Zealand. M. Puccini, the composer <»r I.a Boheme” and “Madam© Butterfly” died in the arm s of his daughter at a nursing home in Brussels a few days ago, where, he arrived 10 days previously for the purpose of an operation on the larynx. He underwent radium treatment, and benefited, but collapsed unexpectedly from heart attack.
