HOLDS GOOD LEGALLY: (Per Press Assn). ill'lil'H, July 30 At. a meeting vf the General Committee of the Canterbury A. and P. Association on duly 9th, on Mr Hayward’s motion, it was decided to inform the Rugby I nion that the Association would require the Addington tShow Grounds on August loth. In moving the motion, Mr Hayward said that he did ru as a protest against the Rugby Union's action in refusing the Show Grounds for a Rugby League match with the visiting English team, fixed for August 10th. At a special meeting of the Committee today a legal opinion was submitted on the iease between the Association and the Union, aud, as a result, the resolution arrived at on July 9th, was rescinded. The meeting was closed to the Press—with regard to the opinion and the discussiou thereon.
