Four persons were killed and twenty five injured throukh a collision at the Haymarket station, Edinburgh. LONDON. July 29.. The victims of the Edinburgh train smash were mostly women and girls, members of a Polytechnic holiday party from Loudon f Oxford and Alanehester, residing temporarily in a hostel at Edinburgh. They had been on an excursion to Saint Andrews. They had just transferred into a stationary suburban train. Seventy-five minutes elapsed before the last of those injured could be extricated from the telescoped carriages. Every movement of the structure with the crowbars evoked groans from those pinned under it. Doctors succoured the imprisoned persons with brandy, while tho rescuers wore smashing the woodwork. LATER. The Edinburgh accident was caused ihioug'n an in-coming train running into a stationary train. Four carriages ot ihe latter were telescoped.
