He was at the time on his land with a 1 l-y ear-old son felling a large tree. As the tree fell a limb broke off, and fell on deceased, apparently killing him instantaneously. The son was away a little distance at the time of the accident. He removed the limb ol the tree off th e deceased and th")> went for medical assistance, but on arrival, the doctor pronounced life extinct. Deceased was 58 years of ‘<ir ■ and is survived by a widow and !i sons. An amusing story concerning the recent broadcast talk by Mr Frank Hodges M 1’.., Civil Lord of the Ad miralty. was told by Mr Hodges r< cently. Mr Hodges’ talk was on “A p-iv in the Life of a Munei.” and there was some doubt as to whether it might not be considered in some quarters, to be propaganda.
