The Otago Rugby Union has decided to protest against the decision of the New Zealand Rugby Union to adhere to the decision to charge 2/- admission to tho ground for the match, New Zealand v. New South Wales, as, on th< New Zealand Union’s own showing, tho expenses of the tour will not exceed £6500, and at a charge of 1/- to the ground, with an extra charge to tho stand, the receipts for tho 10 matches should total £B,OOO. BULLER UNION. COMMITTEE MEETING. The Committee of the above Union met at Mr R. Hansby’s rooms, West, port, on Saturday oveiling. Present: Messrs P. Power (chair), G. Hufton, H. Stanborough, F. Knight, A. E. Brockett, L. O’Flaherty, A. Colvin and L. V. Carmine. The Captain of the Rival junior team attended in connection with the conduct of his team after the Rival-Nga-kawau match on 16th June. Mr Kemp stated ho was not on tho field at the time the offence took place, and lie took no part in tho hooting. As captain of the team he was, however, sorry the incident took place and he would apologise on behalf of his team.—-Re-solved that the apology bo accepted and the incident closed. Messrs Roche and Bradley were granted leave of absence on account of sickness. Rangers were granted permission to play a benefit match with Ngakawau on August sth. Resolved to ask the Borough Council for permission to play all big matelms on Victoria Square, provided the wcath er is fine from 2 p.m. < u 1 lie previous Thursday. It was decided to | lay the Fourth Grade competition in two divisions — Town v. Country. The winners of each division to play off at Westport, and all games to bo played in two spells of 30 minutes each. Resolved to invite the Nelson Rugby Union to send a team to Buller this season. The Secretary was instructed to ask the Railway Manager to delay the usual trains and issue excursion tickets for the Canterbury match on August 11th. Resolved to call a meeting of ladies at an early date for tho purpose of arranging a Ball for the Canterbury Football team. The following are the fixtures:— Senior Shield.—July 28th., Mokihinni v.
