(Our Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 26. Personal. I ,^ r Hag-ger, Conciliation Commissioner, returned from the West . Coast on Thursday night. Messrs H. Hunter and Wm. Scott, . members of the Court of Arbitration, have left Christchurch for Wellington. Mr Ruddall Hayward, director and producer of the New Zealand-made film, “My Lady of the Cave,” is in Christchurch making arrangements for the screening of two films in this city. The Rev. C. A. Fraer entertained old members of Selwyn College, Dunedin. at the Phillipstown Vicarage this week. Among the twenty present was the Bishop of Dunedin, Dr. Isaac Richards. a former Warden of the College. The engagement is announced of Mona Geraldine, elder daughter of Mrs Bethune, and of the late Mr Geo. Bethune, Christchurch, to Ceeil Ritchie. youngest son of Mr and Mrs. David B. Howden, Heretaunga. Gift to W.E.A. • The Christchurch .workers’ Educational Society has just been presented by Mr E. H. Wyles, president of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, with a very valuable gift in the form of a complete set of the special supplements issued by the “Manchester Guardian,” and dealing with post-war reconstruction. The supplements contain a wealth of information regarding reparation problems that will be of much use to W.E.A. -tu louts of economics. A letter of acknowledgment and appreciation of the gift will be sent to Mr Wyles by Professor J. iCondliffe, on behalf of the Association.
