HARI HARI NOTES.

The South. W-cstland people regret the transfer of Mr 11. Drummond, who has been in charge of the Okarito police station, this last two years. He Jett South Westland recently on his way to the Rimu Station Constable Drummond will be much missed down this way, as he made many friends, aTff always did his duty, but he never looked lor trouble. Ilari Ilari and Okarito’s loss will be Riniu’s gain. Hf 3 place is being filled by Constable Moodic, of Reefton. Nearly all the residents turned oiit here o.u Wednesday last, (Anzac Day), at the local cemetery. 1 might mention if it had not been for a few residents on the Flat getting to work about a week before Anzac Day, and putting the cemetery in ship shape form, it would have looked a disgrace to all of us. Miss Winnie Graham, our local postmistress, who has been on holiday this last fortnight, has arrived home again. .Mr J. Peterson is at present adding to his bungalow. When the repairs are completed, it will catch the 6ye of every passer-by. Mr T. E. Y. Seddon, late member for W-estland, along with Mrs Scddon, also Air Fred and Airs Harley, passed through here one day last week to the Glaciers. Airs G. Scott Robertson (senior) is at. present on a holiday visit to Hokitika and Greymouth for a few weeks. The football season is now in full swing, and is here attracting tlie keenest interest The junior fixture for Saturday week last here, Hari Hari v. Ross, did not come off, on account of the- Ross team wanting to play on Sunday. The Hari Hari Chibs are. opposed to playing any fixture on Sundays, as they will be expected to fulfil their engagements on the Saturday. The Kiwis junior and senior teams travelled to Hari Hari on Saturday to try their luck with the Hari Hari senior and junior teums. While the visiting juniors scored a win, the seniors found our boys too good for them. It was a splendid game, an<“ Hie southerners quite exceeded all expectations. They are now fairly in the hunt for the trophy.
