WESTLAND ELECTORATE. A meeting of the Greymouth L. R. C. was hold in the Lyceum Hall on Saturuay afternoon. The President Miss AL Anderson occupied the chair. A considerable amount of outward correspondence was dealt witn. Letters were received from the National Secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party, re a. candidate for the Westland Seat. It was decided that the National Secretary be mf r rined of the L. R. C.’s choice of a candidate. Letters were also received from the .Westport and Otago L.R.C.’s, asking for information of the forthcoming election. The Secretary was to supply the information asked for. Afany enquiries, and offers of assistance were received from an over the Westland electorate for a T.abour candidate to contest the Westland seat. 'lho nominations received for candidates for the Westland electorate for the Parliamentary elections eon sis to'l .of Mr F. L. Turley and Air Jas ()’- Brien. Mr Turley withdrew his nomHnation, and it was unanimously resolv[cd that Air Jas. O’Brien should contest the scat in Labour’s interests. Several matters in connection with the coming election were discussed at length. It was resolved to hold another meeting at an early date, to go thoroughly into the matter of organising the election campaign, the date anil hour of the meeting to be left to the president and secretary.
