Sodden has now posted a copy of the Native Leases Bill to the Greymouth Chamber ot Commerce, it will be discussed at a meeting this afternoon. It is propos ed to send a deputation from the Chamber to interview the Native Affairs Committee next Wednesday at Wellington. The sub-lessees should send a deputation also, and the different attitudes should all be duly stated on the occasion.

Our special Westport correspondent writes:—Mr C. Spillane, late of the Westport Railway “holder-up ga«ig’’ has, we are pleased to see, gained a position in the Watersiders Cricket team at Grey. We can recommend him as a first-class cricketer, he having captained the Kiwis here for two seasons, and that team winning the championship both seasons. For a round-armer, he has never been known to miss a bowl. Pussyfoot! You arc on the wrong track, our people are temperate and moderate. We have more hotels in proportion to population than any other part of Australasia, and we have less
