OPIUM SMUGGLING.
A £5O FINE. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. October 12. Colin Clyde Hemus, a seaman who had seven tins of opium in his possession when arrested, was fined £5O, oi two months’ imprisonment, for smuggling. Charges under the Custom? and Anti-Opium legislation were withdrawn. Accused elected to be imprisoned.
