PETROL DOWN. NEW YORK, August 4. The petrol price has been reduced by two cents in the eastern States, and is now twenty-seven cents wholesale. HIDES MARKET. MELBOURNE, August 4. The hides market was keen, with values unchanged, except in kips which improved a farthing. WHEAT MARKET EASY. LONDON, August 4. Whert cargoes are steady, but inac five. Parcels are in but small demand. Prices are irregular. The Bintang’s wheat (on passage) sold at 53/- per quarter.
