LOCAL UNEMPLOYED.
A RELIEF FUND. As in many other towns in the Dominion, a relief fund for the unemployed in Greymouth has been inaugurated by the Beautifying Association whose president sends the following letter for publication:— (To the Editor.) Sir, —At the nveeting held by the recently formed Beautifying Committee, it was decided to ask the local papers to open subscription lists to raise funds. We appeal to the whole of rhe residents of the district to support us. All the money will be spent in beautifying the town and suburbs, and giving work to the unemployed. Trusting- you will accede to our request, — I am, etc. P. BECK (President).
