SEAMEN’S CONFERENCE.
48-HOURS’ WEEK WANTED. PARIS, August 3. The International Seamen’s Conference decided to issue a manifesto demanding a 48-hours’ week, and a fixed minimum wage but rejected a French proposal that militant action be taken to -enforce the demand.
