DRAUGHTS

Quite an unusual amount of interest is taken in draughts amongst the watersiders, and there are some players belonging to that body who fancy they can hold their own with any players on the est Coast. In fact there has been some talk of selecting a team to challenge the Rust of the West Coast at some future date. As a preliminary to such a match, and to keep in good practice, they have arranged a friendly match to take place next week and the greatest interest is being taken therein. The following is the constitution of the teams.: — Cressey’s Team v. Lawson’s Team G. Cressey v. M. Lawson; T. Rumlie v. F. Gilmore; G. Muirhead v. A. Axe! sen; W. Dixon v. IL Lawrence; W. Wilson v. J. Dixon; M. Coakley v. J. Smith; D. Crichton v. A. Brislaue; A. O’Brien v. J. Stubbs. The result will be published in the “Argus” later.
