During the last week or two more house properties have changed Hands in and about. Ashburton than for some considerable time past (states th. “Guardian”). Up till a month ago, a local agent states, Hie business done in this line was mostly with houses of a value up to about £BOO, but now the demand was for much higher-priced homes, and only recently had inquiries been received for buildings worth over £lOOO, several having been disposed of at a price well over this figure. Recently, 100, people who had been boarding at hotels, or renting houses were seeking to purchase their own plaees.
