SERIES OF FATALITIES.
SEVERAL BODIES FOUND. (Per Press Association.) WAI ROA, July 24. The decomposed body of a man was found in the Wairoa River by two boys this afternoon. The body was identifed as that of a returned soldier named Francis Broken Stewart, formerly a porter r.t a Wairoa Hotel, who had been missing since the end of last month. An inquest will be held to-morrow. CHRISTCHURCH, July 24. A body was found in the sea near Taylor’s Mistake, Sumner, and it has been identified as Miss Kate Lane. 57 years of ago, who had been missing from her home in Armagh Street. Christchurch, since Tuesday. It is pre flumed she fell down the cliffs. DUNEDIN, July 24. Thomas Clarke, aged 40, a married man, living alone, was found dead at his homo this morning with the gas turned on. The circumstances point to suicide.
