MCCARTHY BEATS McBRIDE. MELBOURNE, July 17. McCarthy outpointed Mcßride in a well contested fight. FRANK GRIFFIN DEFEATED. Frank Griffin w?>s recently defeated at Kurri-Kurri, New South Wales, by Billy McNabb. The latter, who was 10.11, or 51bs heavier than Griffin, was sent down for seven in the first round. The crowd expected Griffin to win easily. McNabb came to, however, and used his right with effect in seven more tempetuous rounds, the two men going at a terrific rate. In the eighth round McNabb got a right home that sent his opponent down for the fulL4 count.
