KEMMIS MURDER.
I SEVERAL GOOD CLUES, j SYDNEY, July 11. ; The police have several strong clues by which they hope shortly to trace the murderers of Kemmis. , The information supplied i description of a man who was hanging ■ round Hornsby station for several days | and boarded the train by which Kem- ; mis travelled. Further information states that two men were seen to hurriedly jump from the Hornsby train, just before it stopped at Waits ra, and run down the embankment and disappear. . i. Bank official are of the opinion that Kemmis had been watched for a considerable time, as a couple of weeks ago, a man called at the bank after office hours and asked for some stamps, stating that he had been sent by the post office. The official became suspicious and communicated with the postmaster who denied sending anybody. I Chief Secretary Gakes stated that the police force was seriously undermanned, and special efforts were being made by means of advertising to secure recruits. Further action will depend upon .the result of the appeal.
