WESTPORT NOTES.

(Our Own Correspondent.) Rheumatism, sciatica, and the various allied ailments arc just about verging on an ejiidcniic in Westport. The marvellous “Bulgarian Bug” is said to be performing miraculous cures, among the faithful. Th-e North Beach Serf Club arc calling a special meeting shortly to devise ways and means of securing a suitable building for entertainments at the seaside. Tlie building is also to provide dressing sheds, and would also be used as a, shelter shed in the event of rain coming on. Mr and Airs E. Curtis were, the recipients of a message of condolence from the “North Beach Surf Club on the occasion of their recent bereavement. The secretary (Mr W. Kerr), the chairman (Mr I’. Ryan), and Air J. Kilkenny have been authorised by the Surf Chib to interview Air R. Patterson. on the subjpet of .securing a right, to occupy certain land on the north foreshore. That is perfectly true, and the exchange of seats has brought about a change in the manner of working affairs connected with the said local body. Instead of the dog tvagI ging the tail, we now have the tail I wagging the dog. Let’s put it another way: At the head of the table

we have “Dad’' Archer, and at the tail “Mum” Mclntyre, and everybody knows Dad and Mum are one! You see Dad Archer is sitting at tho wheel, so to speak, and Mum Mclntyre hut his hand ou the steering gear I
